FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
TITANS FÚTBOL HIRES NTX DIRECTOR OF COACHING TOM BLENCOE
Dallas, TX – April 17, 2019 – On the heels of merging with San Antonio United last month, Titan’s Fútbol Club is pleased to announce the hiring of a new Director of Coaching for the North Texas Area, Tom Blencoe. Titans Fútbol Club is an all boys organization and the brother club to the nationally recognized Sting Soccer Organization. Operated by the same administrative staff as Sting Soccer, Titans F.C. has teams in North Texas, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Austin, and soon in Pennsylvania. The move aligns with the focused initiative of Titans Fútbol Club achieving similar national prominence to the Sting Soccer Organization and puts in place the cornerstone of future success with an extremely qualified, focused, and passionate leader.
Originally from Hull, England, Tom’s roots lay the foundation for his passion to develop young players. His coaching career began at the young age of 19 where he earned numerous certifications before moving to the U.S. in 2005. Working at clubs in Sacramento and San Francisco, Tom made the move to Texas in 2006. Shortly thereafter in 2007 he took the helm as the Director of Coaching for Centex Storm SC in Central Texas where he transformed the program, laying the foundation for the club by implementing an academy program, hiring in a high-quality coaching staff, and providing a purposeful developmental pathway. His role with CSSC led him to become the Liverpool FC International Academy STX Director of Coaching where he continued to build the program for several years. In 2015, seeking a new challenge, Tom moved to Flower Mound, TX and accepted the role of Director of Player Programs, Coordinator of the Colony, and Reds Academy school of Excellence (RASE) Manager. in 2016 he accepted the position of Academy Director taking control of the foundation phase of the club and was awarded the prestigious Positive Coaching Alliance’s National Coaching Award. After a successful year in 2017, Tom was promoted to the Boys Director of Coaching of Liverpool FC International Academy and was responsible for overseeing the entire boys program. That same year, Tom was instrumental in Liverpool becoming part of the Boys ECNL and continued to build the boys program at LFC to develop quality teams and provide them the pathway to succeed at the local, regional, and national stage.
While Tom shows an unparalleled ability to build a cohesive program and coaching staff, his passion lies in developing young players to their maximum potential. A student of the game, Tom holds his UEFA B License, FA Level 1 and 2, USSF C License, 4v4 and 7v7 Grassroots License, and FA certificates in Child Psychology, Fitness in Football, and Match and Player Analysis. He has received the FA Futsal Masterclass award, Behavioral Management Masterclass award, Concussions guideline award and the goalkeeping award. He also holds the FA talent ID certificate, and the NSCAA National and Advanced National Diploma’s along with the NSCAA diploma – Reading the Game. He has completed the La Liga Formation Methodology Level 3, and more recently the ECNL Coaching Symposium certificate. His educational foundations are impressive, as is his desire to continue to seek the knowledge to develop young players in a methodical, but forward-thinking environment.
Tom’s role with Titans Fútbol Club will center on building and developing in North Texas a parallel program to the Sting Soccer Organization, with a focused goal of achieving similar success. Knowing the North Texas soccer landscape better than most, and with his commitment to player development, and establishing a quality staff that can implement programs for players of all ages, Tom will lay the foundation on which Titans F.C. in North Texas will grow an unparalleled boys’ soccer program.
Tom shares excitement about the new challenge.
“I am thrilled to be a part of the Titans Family. I’m beyond excited for what the future holds for this organization. In a short time, I’ve been so impressed with the infrastructure they have in place, and the positive working environment. I am very much looking forward to building a culture of respect, trust, cohesion and excellence. I would like to thank the good people I have had the opportunity to work with the past 7 years and leave proud of all that has been achieved. It’s now time for a new challenge and I simply can’t wait to see what will be accomplished. “
Sting Soccer and Titans Fútbol Club COO Erin Medina mirrors his excitement.
“The Sting Soccer Organization over time has implemented a model that has allowed us to grow exponentially over the past several years across many areas and achieve unparalleled success in North Texas, with Sting Dallas achieving the coveted honor of the 2017-18 Overall Club National Champion of the ECNL. The Titans program has flourished in many of our South Texas divisions, and it is now time to put the Titans name on the map for North Texas. Tom brings the experience, education, and passion necessary to build a successful Titans program in North Texas and propel Titans Fútbol Club to national success.”
With a strong administrative framework, an unparalleled developmental model, access to local, and regional platforms with an eye on the national stage, and most importantly an exceptional leader to spearhead the effort, Titans Fútbol Club will look to create a program in NTX that will truly provide a unique and meaningful experience for developing young players to succeed at every level of play.
